Unique, Wearable Flowers for Your Wedding Day
Long gone are the days of boring boutonnieres and basic mothers’ corsages….wearable flowers are truly an art form, and we’ve listed our top five ways of incorporating beautiful, wearable blooms into your wedding day.
Swap your Bridesmaids’ Bouquets for Floral Bracelets
Instead of having your bridal party hold bouquets as they walk down the aisle, swap them out for pretty floral bracelets that compliment the color of their dresses. Floral bracelets look great, they’re less expensive than bouquets, and they work especially well if you have a large wedding party. Added bonus: The bridesmaids can dance with them on!
🌸Pro Tip: Floral bracelets are a fresh, modern substitution for the more traditional mother/grandmother corsages, and they also make the sweetest wedding day gift for flower girls!
2. Wear a Statement Headpiece
You know the saying: go big or go home! To really make an impact on your wedding day, have your florist create a stunning floral headpiece that compliments the shape and style of your gown.
🌸Pro Tip: Is the headpiece too big to wear as you walk down the aisle? Wear it for your bridal portraits instead!
3. Ditch the Flower Crown for Loose Flowers
Flower crowns are beautiful, but for something a bit more unique (but not quite as bold as a statement headpiece), try weaving a few loose flowers and/or bits of greenery into your hair. If you work closely with your wedding florist and hairstylist, they’ll be able to come up with several gorgeous options for your wedding day!
🌸Pro Tip: Combs, barrettes, and headbands provide an easy (and pretty!) way of securing the flowers to your hair.
4. Flower Up Your Pup
Who said humans get to have all the fun? Many of our couples want their furry family members to be a part of their special day, and (as an added bonus!), you can ask your wedding florist to make them a special flower leash or collar.
🌸Pro Tip: Have your florist make your dog a floral collar for your engagement photos….not only will you get super cute photos, but your dog will be able to “practice” wearing the flowers before the big day.
5. Think Beyond the Basic Boutonniere
Single bloom with a sprig of greenery? Not on our watch! We love thinking outside the box, and we’ll use grasses, seed pods, tiny succulents, and even feathers to make his boutonniere one to remember.
🌸Pro Tip: Instead of pins, have your florist use boutonniere magnets….they’re much easier to get on and off!
